Monthly Gatherings for New Residents
of the Prescott Quad-City Area
Join us each month as we meet in different locations for get-acquainted activities and information related to
culture, fine arts and enjoying life in the Prescott area. We'll also have lunch or dinner together at a nearby
restaurant to spend more time with our new friends.
We are a local, volunteer-run organization for new residents. Our regular monthly meetings (usually on the
third Thursday of the month) are known as Main Events, and other activities are called Special Events (this
would include our new Munch & Mingle Social which meets quarterly, and other such events). All meetings
are open to everyone. The Main Events are on an annual cycle - each year we go through the same 12
monthly events and if you miss one your first year, you can catch it the next year, or the next, or the next...
Our Book Club meets monthly and discusses a new book each month. Special Events vary from year to
NewCATs activities are intended for both men and women, couples and singles. Many of those who attend
are retired but some are still working in the community or online. Our desire is to help new residents explore
our amazing communities, focusing on cultural and recreation activities, and to meet new friends.
Many of our events, but not all, are free. Some of the venues that we visit require an admission fee and
sometimes we collect an honorarium for a speaker. To keep transactions simple, these fees are collected in
cash at the meeting (since we don't have an organization bank account). Lunch costs vary depending on
the restaurant. We do not collect any membership dues. Our modest needs are covered by donations from
The best way to learn about NewCATs events is to join our email meeting notification system. We send out
2-3 announcements per month with information about meetings and links for registration. To be added to
that list, please send an email to Barbara at firstname.lastname@example.org.
